Hi Families! Here is a peek at our learning: Literacy : Students continue to develop and practice reading and writing strategies through activities like literacy stations, class read alouds and journalling . Math : Students are applying their addition strategies to solve story problems. They have discovered some strategies, like usi ng a number line, are more efficient than using strategies like drawing pictures. Grade 1’s have also begun exploring 2D shapes. We have started out learning with examining the sides and corners of a shape. Next week, are going to be eva luating how a shape is alike or different and sorting them based on attributes. Social Studies : Grade 1’s have been working hard on their community design final drafts. Take a look !
